The Government renewed the immediate discussion for the project that legalizes euthanasia. The initiative is in the Health Commission of the Senate -in its second constitutional process- and from the Executive they specified that, since June, they reiterate the urgency every week.
“As of June (after the public account of the President Gabriel Boric), we have been renewing the immediate discussion on a weekly basis, demonstrating the priority that the Executive has for advancing this initiative,” said the undersecretary of the Segpres, Macarena Lobos.

In turn, he called on the senators of the Health Commission to “promptly approve this project.”
The Chamber of Deputies consolidated in 2018 a series of projects linked to euthanasia. The Corporation approved the initiative in particular in April 2021. Later, it went to the Senate, being in the Health Commission.
