As part of the celebrations for the MONTH OF EUROPE and the European Film Festival in Cuba, the Delegation of the European Union in Havana announced on Tuesday the bases of the call for Euro Cinelab 2025.
It is a film laboratory aimed at Young Cuban creators interested in exploring the short film format through the use of the mobile phone.
The initiative is oriented to Audiovisual and self -taught fans under 35 years oldwho can access an intensive training of 28 hours for seven days.
As reported by the Delegation of the European Union in Cuba, the laboratory will have a practical and creative approach that will culminate with the realization of a fiction or documentary short film.
The course will be taught in person at the headquarters of the delegation of the EU In Miramar, Havana, and will include sessions connected in line with the renowned Belgian-Ecuadorian filmmaker Xavier Solanowho has developed similar workshops in Latin America, Europe and Central Asia.

2025 edition details
In this edition, participants will work on the topic of Cinematographic self -portraita proposal that invites you to explore personal identity in the current social context.
The entity explained that projects that address issues such as Youth, gender, diversity, climate change and intercultural dialogue.
At the end of the workshop, the 15 selected participants will have three weeks to roll and deliver their short film, which must have a duration of between 3 and 10 minutes.
According to the bases, the best three works will receive Official Awards and Diplomasand will be screened in cultural events organized by the EU delegation during the year.
The Call will be open until May 5, 2025. Registration has no cost.
To participate, those interested should reside in Cuba, be less than 35 years old and complete an online form that includes a synopsis of the proposed project.
With Euro Cinelab 2025, the European Union reaffirms its commitment to the Young talent development, strengthening the local film industry and the promotion of cultural exchange between Europe and Cuba.
