The person in charge of foreign policy of the European Parliament, Javier Niño, expressed his support for the political dialogue in Venezuela.
“We reiterate our commitment to support the people of Venezuela and contribute to a peaceful solution and the holding of elections. I reiterate our strongest support for the negotiation in Mexico”, he expressed during a session in which different opposition spokesmen participated, who exposed their differences.
The head of the Unitarian Platform, Gerardo Blyde, said that the opposition is betting that “in the near future” the dialogue in Mexico can be restarted.
Meanwhile, the former presidential candidate, Henrique Capriles, asked the European Union and the United States to “align positions” regarding the situation in Venezuela.
He pointed out that in the country there is only one instance that controls power. “Therefore, beware of fantasies or calling us to deception,” he warned, noting that the sanctions “have not generated changes of any kind.”
“Be careful with believing that harming the economy there will be a break in the military force that will lead to the departure of Maduro,” he said.
