This Thursday morning the oral trial hearing of the Eurochronos case was set up againphase in which two experts from the Institute of Forensic Investigations (IDIF) appear to testify.
The lawyer of the family victim of the robbery in the jewelry store, Jorge Santistebanindicated that between the two experts who appear is the forensic Rafaela Mota, a professional who carried out the skills of the case.
“It is important statement from the coroners because they are the ones who have made the expert report, They reflected every detail in the documents that are now as evidence,” Santiesteban declared.
On the other hand, he announced that the declarations of the civilians and the police have advanced considerably in the oral trial that has been taking place. “They have advanced to clarify the truth and this obviously enriches (the investigation) to finally issue a resolution as corresponds to the Court,” he explained.
However, he pointed out that at the beginning of the hearing this day, one of the defendant’s lawyers asked the Court to intervene to avoid statements to the press, a situation that was not approved.
“That cannot be done by constitutional law and, secondly, everything that happens inside the room will be reported. AndThis is a public and adversarial oral trial, but what obviously cannot be given is a trial and elements of value that will harm the process”, he stressed.
Meanwhile, the Court was emphatic in ensuring that access to information to the media will not be restricted.. “You can report everything they say in the room, what they do the witnesses and evidence that are presented,” he said.
