Foreign Minister Euclides Acevedo announced that he would leave the Foreign Ministry on April 30 to launch his presidential candidacy for the 2023 elections. Given this, he maintained that he received favorable responses in the measurements made regarding the acceptance of citizenship.
“I am not going to jump into the pool without knowing the temperature. There are measurements, I can say that I am fine. The important thing is to seek a national agreement, not only from the opposition. I talk to everyone. This is the time to search for consensus or else the usual winners will win us over, ”he asserted in communication with Radio Ñanduti.
Likewise, he stressed that as soon as he puts the house in order and fulfills some state responsibilities, just one year before the elections he will step aside as Chancellor, due to an ethical issue. He said that if he were legal, he could stay until October or November, but considering that he will need time to launch his candidacy, he will retire on April 30.
“I will put my presidential candidacy for consideration, but it is the people who choose, otherwise I could end up as a candidate for departmental councilor. I am willing to be what reality recommends, I can be a deputy or a senator, as long as there is a project”, he expressed.
