The European Union asked the dictators Daniel Ortega and Rosario Murillo to “immediately reverse” the stripping of the 94 Nicaraguan nationality who were declared “traitors to the homeland.”
The justice of the Nicaraguan regime accused the 94 people who also ordered the confiscation of all their assets, according to a resolution read in the capital’s courts by magistrate Ernesto Rodríguez of the Managua Court of Appeals (TAM).
“This constitutes a violation of their fundamental rights and a breach of international law. Article 15 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights protects the right of each person to have a nationality and prohibits its arbitrary suppression, “says the statement of the European bloc.

The EU warns that these actions by the Ortega Murillo dictatorship are unjustifiable and that they increase the risk of deepening Nicaragua’s international isolation. In addition, it points out that differences of opinion and political dissent “should never serve as a pretext for the violation of fundamental rights or international law.”
“The EU calls on the Nicaraguan authorities to immediately reverse these actions and cease the persecution and reprisals against dissidents and human rights defenders,” demand the EU countries.
The bloc of countries reaffirmed their commitment to the people of Nicaragua and the defense of democracy, the rule of law and human rights in the Central American country.
Ortega and Murillo have stripped the Nicaraguan nationality of 317 journalists, priests, activists, feminists, former regime officials and human rights defenders in seven days.
