EU representative Rafael Dochao visits cooperation projects in Lara and Carabobo

Rafael Dochao also took the opportunity to visit the projects implemented by the European community in Carabobo state, linked to sustainable water management


The head of the delegation of the European Union In Venezuela, rafael dochaovisited Lara state this Thursday where he held meetings with representatives from different sectors, in order to advance in the different cooperation projects that the old continent is carrying out in the country.

The European representative visited the “José Ramón Rodríguez” Agricultural Technical School (ETA), located in Cuara, Jiménez municipality, where the progress of the productive rehabilitation project, carried out by the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization, was shown ( FAO), with funding from the European Union.

Dochao specified that the program between the European Union and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) “will be implemented in 15 states of the country, where 25 agricultural technical schools will be supported,” which will allow at least 7,500 children receive full productive support as well as the promotion of sustainable schools.

“This project is a reflection of the commitment of the EU and FAO to end poverty, hunger and guarantee food security, supporting agricultural production at the local and family level, to achieve the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development”, said the Minister. EU representative.

He also held a meeting with the Larense Family Planning Association (Alaplaf), as part of the project that the European Union has with the Center for Justice and Peace (Cepaz) for legal and psychological care for women victims of violence.

The EU also visited Carabobo

Rafael Dochao also took the opportunity to visit the projects implemented by the European community in Carabobo state, linked to sustainable water management.

During his visit, the European representative was accompanied by the Fundación Tierra Viva team, who introduced him to the project “AQUA: Strengthening actors for sustainable water management in three regions of Venezuela”.

This project is carried out in three states of Venezuela (Canoabo, in Carabobo; Tucupita in Delta Amacuro; and Siquisique, in Lara), with the aim of promoting sustainable water management through the development of local capacities and actions, with impact on the health, economy and conservation of ecosystems.

Through this project, around 2,000 local residents of these municipalities, community councils, civil society organizations and local governments will benefit.

Likewise, he visited the “Solutions People” project, which through “United for water quality”, seeks to promote the sanitation of the vital liquid and access to public information on environmental matters.
