Ethics recognizes the MICM for fighting corruption

Ética reconoce al MICM por lucha contra la corrupción

As a sign of its commitment to ethics and government transparency, the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Mipymes (MICM), received from the General Directorate of Government Ethics and Integrity (DIGEIG), three new recognitions in the fight against administrative corruption, for participating in the digital campaign “Dominicana sin corruption”, through the promotion “Cut the Thread of Corruption.”

The ministry was recognized in the categories of “Best Original Graphic Message; Best Graphic Message from the Highest Authority; and Best Institutional Graphic ”.

The Minister of Industry and Commerce, Victor -Ito-Bisonor, thanked Doña Milagros Ortíz Bosch, director of the regulatory body of the public ethics system, for the distinction granted through the three recognitions, and reiterated the commitment of the management that heads to work in the promotion of good governmental practices , guarantors of stability and confidence for the economic growth of the Dominican Republic.

Bisonó also stressed that each achievement obtained by the MICM is the result of the work carried out by the team that accompanies him in his management, “therefore, they are recognitions and awards that correspond to them as well.”

On her side, Ms. Milagros Ortíz Bosch, welcomed the commitment and spirit of work of the MICM collaborators in order to promote transparency and ethical work for the competitiveness of public management.

The campaign was promoted through the Communications Department, headed by Ana Rossina Troncoso, the MICM ethics commission, and the Digital Communication team, made up of José Rafael Mata, Karina Taveras, Laura Longa and Susy Tejada.

In the recognition ceremony, the vice ministers of the MICM, Vilma Arbaje de Contreras, of Foreign Trade, and Jorge Morales of Fomento a Mipymes participated. While from DIGEIG, Yovanny Díaz Mendoza, director of ethics, Berenice Barinas, executive director and other officials of that agency were present.

These new distinctions are added to other efforts in the matter of transparency such as the international certification ISO-9001-2015, and the recently awarded Gold medal in the national quality award given by the Ministry of Public Administration.
