Ethics Commission began investigation of Héctor Ventura for attacking the police

The Congressional Ethics Commission today opened a preliminary investigation against the Fuerza Popular congressman, Hector Venturafor allegedly physically assaulting PNP Petty Officer Santos Michel Ramírez, last Thursday, November 17.

The president of that group, Karol Paredes, notified Ventura of the initiation of investigations for violation of the Code of Parliamentary Ethics.

Ramírez denounced that he was on duty at the Legislative headquarters and was in charge of the access gate located at the intersection of Jirón Junín with Abancay avenue, in downtown Lima.

He indicated that, at approximately 1:40 pm, a black vehicle left Parliament that was approached by the Fujimori legislator, who also chairs the Oversight Commission.

“The same man who, with the windows of the vehicle down and being in it, shouted energetically “we are at war” and wanted him to open the gate so he could get out,” Ramírez declared before the authorities of the San Andrés Police Station.

“Being responsible for the post and having the red traffic light at the intersection, I did not open the gate immediately, so the congressman got out of the vehicle and without saying a word to me, kicked me in the right foot, causing an injury,” he stressed. .

The legal medical report proves that the complainant recorded a wound to the right ankle “caused by a hard blunt agent.” “He presents traces of recent traumatic injuries for the injuries described,” the report concludes.

The case is already being investigated by the Fourth Office of the Fifth Corporate Criminal Prosecutor of Lima.

For his part, Congressman Ventura denies having attacked the police force. Likewise, from his surroundings they indicated to Peru21 that evidence will be presented that contradicts the complainant’s version.
