ETESA will maintain an electricity service concession for another 25 years

Until December 2049, the Electricity Transmission Company, SA, (ETESA) will be able to continue its work of operation, exploitation and maintenance of the high voltage electric transmission system. This after receiving a concession extension, for another 25 years, from the Public Services Authority (ASEP).
Through this extension of the concession, ETESA will continue to carry out its work that began in 1999, when the then-called Regulatory Entity for Public Services (today ASEP) signed the concession contract with ETESA, to provide the public electricity transmission service.
The concession extension was signed by Carlos Mosquera Castillo, from ETESA and by Armando Fuentes, from ASEP.
“This concession extension guarantees us the continuous operation that ETESA has had since its inception, it is the guarantee that allows us to continue operating, in accordance with the legal framework, it also reinforces the development of the energy transition in our country by having a solid structure and robusta”, highlighted the general manager of ETESA.

It was through AN Resolution No. 17932-Elec, of October 10, 2022, that the ASEP considered it appropriate to extend the concession for the provision of public electricity service. With this, the concession to Etesa will allow it to continue its operation at full capacity until December 22, 2049.

Recently, Etesa received from the certification body, SGS Panama Control Service, the ISO 9001: 2015 Quality Management certification, thus becoming the first Panamanian state entity audited and certified 100% of its operations, processes, services and areas. administrative.

This certification translates into a continuous, safe and reliable electricity transmission service, in a sustainable manner, oriented towards the satisfaction of the electricity market, as well as the fulfillment of its needs and expectations.
