ETESA affirms that SITIESPA's accusations of interference in internal union affairs are false

The Electricity Transmission Company, SA (ETESA) rejects -as false- the accusations that have been made by a tiny group of the directors of the Union of Workers of the Electrical and Similar Industries of Panama (SITIESPA), while categorically denying interference in internal union affairs.

Union affiliation is a legitimate right of workers and the administration of ETESA is respectful of the rules that govern the matter, so it should be clarified that no dismissals or discounts have been made outside of what is established by the labor code and the collective agreement, which establishes the procedures and criteria for making use of union charters/privileges.

I affirm that ETESA has dedicated great efforts to comply with the quality indicators and remains focused on obtaining -this year 2022- the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management certification, although this worries a tiny group clinging to anachronistic models and creating destabilization.

They stressed that the continuous attacks against directors of the state energy company are a distraction mechanism, in the face of an unfortunate internal conflict within the workers’ union, a situation that is being managed by the workers themselves in the corresponding instances of the Ministry of Labor and Labor Development. .

ETESA -state company 100% of Panamanian capital- is aware of its role and responsibility in the sustainable development of the country, guaranteeing the transmission of high voltage electrical energy in a safe, continuous and reliable manner.
