ETECSA announces interruption of Nauta Hogar in the coming days

Havana Cuba. — The Cuban Telecommunications Company (ETECSA) reported in its Web page regarding the suspension of operations on the platform that supports the Nauta service due to maintenance work.

“From the night of March 7 until the following day, March 8, Internet access through the Nauta Hogar and public Wi-Fi services will not be affected, however, it will not be possible to recharge Nauta accounts for any of the existing roads, nor the payment of the Nauta Hogar quota, ”said the state monopoly.

According to the brief note, “the tasks are necessary and essential to improve the benefits of this service” and ensures that “the specialists will work to complete them in the scheduled time.”

In recent months, users have not stopped expressing their disagreement with the “terrible” quality of services and the high prices imposed by ETECSA, not a few took advantage of this opportunity to complain on social networks.

“What navigation? if right now there hasn’t been for days. Don’t disrespect people anymore, it’s better not to say anything than to make fun of this way,” Luis Alberto De Leon, an ETECSA user posted in a comment on his official Facebook profile.

“The connection, both mobile and Nauta, has been lousy for a while,” he added.

In response to the continuous complaints, the company is implementing the introduction of the 2100MHz frequency band to improve the connection.

This solution has caused cell phones to automatically switch to communication towers that operate on that frequency. If the user is near the tower and in the open air, this does not present a problem, but if it is not, the quality of the signal decreases and Internet browsing becomes null in most cases.

On the other hand, “recharges from abroad have decreased” because the value of the recharge does not correspond to the options obtained in exchange and the poor quality of the service.

“Hopefully the issue of Nauta Hogar navigation is resolved because beyond the fact that there is a signed contract, users feel cheated because the company constantly fails to comply and there is no way to complain,” published a user who identified himself as Jack Sp in a comment.

According to official information, ETECSA has close to eight million active lines in Cuba, and of these users, around seven million connect to the Internet using mobile data.
