The Ministry of Health (Ssa) reported a 99 percent reduction in mortality from covid-19 compared to the maximum peak that occurred in January 2021. The agency reported two deaths yesterday, for a total of 323,727 since the pandemic began .
Meanwhile, the cases reached 5,723,214, after adding the 281 that occurred between Sunday and Monday. It should be remembered that during the weekend the figures are lower because the number of tests is reduced.
In the daily technical report, the Ssa indicated that, for epidemiological week number 13 (from March 27 to April 2), the number of estimated infections decreased 18 percent. Only 0.09 percent of the total cases registered since the start of the pandemic are active, which is equivalent to 5,844 people who reported signs and symptoms of covid in the last 14 days.
Regarding hospital occupancy, it was reported that that of general beds fell one point compared to the previous day and thus stood at 4 percent, while those of beds with ventilators rose one point and reached 3 percent.
The vaccination campaign was not carried out on Sunday due to the mandate revocation consultation.
