President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo appointed Esthela Damián Peralta as the new legal advisor of the Federal Executive.
The appointment was made to replace Ernestina Godoy, who a few days ago was ratified as head of the Attorney General’s Office of the Republic.
After learning of the appointment, the new federal official thanked the federal president through her social media accounts: “I appreciate the president’s trust.” @Claudiashein. I assume it with responsibility, daily work and loyalty to the transformation project that put people at the center. Work, comply with the law and serve the people, as the first female president of Mexico has taught us.”
Damián Peralta is a close collaborator of the head of the Executive. She was his private secretary when Sheinbaum became head of Government of Mexico City.
Worked on strategies to address violence
Until yesterday she served as Undersecretary of Violence Prevention of the Ministry of Security and Citizen Protection, where she was in charge of the strategy to address the causes of violence.
According to her profile – released by the federal government – the new legal advisor has a degree in law from the Autonomous University of the State of Guerrero and a master’s degree in education.
“Her training as a lawyer and her career in public service have been characterized by a comprehensive approach to law, with practical specialization in parliamentary, fiscal, administrative law, human rights, electoral law and protection of the rights of girls, boys, and youth, areas in which she has developed a career recognized for its technical and institutional consistency,” it was reported.
For four years she was general director of the System for the Comprehensive Development of the Family of Mexico City and executive secretary of the System for the Comprehensive Protection of Girls, Boys and Adolescents.
