IMSS-Bienestar launched a strategic command to guarantee the supply of medicines in clinics and hospitals in the 23 states of the Republic where it operates. The new body will meet every day, first thing in the morning
with representatives of the medical areas and each entity in a situation room to monitor step by step the operation and supply and distribution machinery
of the inputs.
Alejandro Svarch, head of IMSS-Bienestar, reported yesterday that these actions seek to have an inventory of keys updated every week, as well as a new traceability system to track the medications that patients should receive free of charge during 2025 and 2026. This is the main objective, he stated.
To this end, he called on the federal coordinators in the 23 entities and the heads of the Regional High Specialty Hospitals to spare no efforts to improve each link in the process.
The supply of medicines and healing materials intended for people without social security has been one of the greatest challenges of the previous and current administration, because although various strategies were applied to improve the use of public resources and ensure the filling of prescriptions , it is an issue that remains pending.
Hence the decision of IMSS-Bienestar and Svarch’s call to responsible officials in the states to join in this crusade to guarantee a timely and quality supply
.
It is about, he added, that people have access to medicines, devices and supplies. wherever they are, at the time they require it and with the opportunity they deserve
he emphasized.
At the meeting where the strategy was presented, the director of Biological and Reactive Laboratories of Mexico, SA de CV (Birmex), Iván de Jesús Olmos Cansino, reported that the organization in his charge has a new distribution scheme.
