It is false. The message about Superlano, in the form of a virtual flyer, has been spread on various video and short message platforms. Until August 12, when this note was published, there was no information about a supposed discovery of this nature, neither from the police authorities nor from journalists specialized in the area. On August 6, his lawyer reported that he was being held in Helicoide.

It is false. At least until August 12, 2024, no police authority, family members or defenders have confirmed such information circulating in a #Whastapp post.
The flyer is a screenshot of a video without narration from the @navi.mosh account, accompanied only by music, which went viral on X (Twitter) since Tuesday, July 30. That same day, it was uploaded to TikTok and YouTube platforms with the same presentation style. A complaint that lacks details and was questioned by social media users who identified themselves as opponents.
The latest information on Voluntad Popular leader Freddy Superlano is that he is being held in the Helicoide, according to his lawyer Joel García. On August 1, the Attorney General, Tarek William Saab, spoke out about Superlano’s arrest and assured that he was “in good health.”
Superlano was arbitrarily detained on July 30, 2024 along with two of his collaborators and it was not until seven days later that the place of his detention was known.

On the other hand, the last message on the Instagram account of Aurora Silva, Superlano’s wife, dates back to August 5, where she indicated that it was still unknown where the VP leader was being held and called for proof of life. At that time, the flyer announcing Superlano’s death had been viral for several days. Aurora Silva neither denies nor corroborates it in her messages.
Following this message, Superlano’s wife has not spoken out again on her Instagram, although the media has collected statements about the case of her husband and of prisoners from the special police forces, such as Roland Carreño, among others, in which she has expressed fear for the life of her husband and all prisoners imprisoned for political reasons.
Freddy Superlano is a leader of the Voluntad Popular party, former deputy and former candidate for governor of the state of Barinas, where he had a close contest in the 2017 regional elections against Argenis Chávez, brother of the late Hugo Chávez, who ultimately emerged victorious under accusations of favoritism during the process, as well as misuse of state resources.
