Erwin Sánchez gave a general balance of the 2022 season. The DT of Oriente Petrolero mentioned that in general terms it was a good campaign, despite not being able to reach a desired position in the table. He also talked about what is coming at the club in 2023, and his expectations.
“The balance is positive, due to all the signs we have had. We did not end up in the expectant position we had at the beginning of the semester, but we always remain with that desire to have achieved the goal set. There were six games to play and one against a direct rival. We were fighting for that fourth or third place,” said the national coach.
Regarding the new faces at the club, and more precisely the youth ones, ‘Platiní’ pointed out that in the East they seek to “be sellers, not buyers. We don’t want the club to continue getting into debt because of players who come for just one semester.”
When asked about the specific objectives for 2022, Erwin pointed out that “thethe objectives were achieved (…), we arrive at group stage Copa Sudamericana, we fought the first places in the championship and we were able train our players”.
By 2023, DT wants to “strengthen that and last year’s promises that are no longer promises, but something immovable”. That is to say that they are no longer an objective to be met, but that it is something more natural in the club, that I always fight at the top and get international participation.
“We do not work for Erwin Sánchez or Ronald Raldes, but for the institution,” he said.
DT also reported that the club’s preseason will be abroad. “We are increasing situations that allow us to think that this semester we can fight it in a different way. They are two important games that we will have in Chile on the 5th and 8th,” he concluded.
