There are two months left for the National Superintendence of Health decide if the EPS Savia Salud will be liquidated, after the special surveillance measure was extended, whose purpose is to define if the service will continue under the same terms, or if it will have some variations.
However, in the midst of a political control debate this Tuesday in Congress, the Minister of Health, Carolina Corcho, anticipated some details that would realize that the EPS of Antioquiawhose shareholders are the Government, the Medellín Mayor’s Office and the Comfama family compensation fund, would be liquidated.

In this regard, the head of the Health portfolio indicated that from the Senate they already warn that the National Government would end the provision of the Savia Salud service, taking into account the complaints that fall on the EPS, of which 30% correspond to complaints for life risksin addition to the millionaire debts that it has.
“Several senators tell me that if the Government liquidates Savia Salud, the provision of the service will end. I tell them that Savia Salud is already ending the benefit, it owes more than $700,000 million to hospitals, it is the EPS that has the most guardianships; users have filed nearly 25,000 petitions, complaints and claims: 30% are complaints for non-attention in cases that compromise life”, said the minister.

Corcho’s statements already leave uncertainty about the decision that will be made regarding the operation of Savia Salud, taking into account that they are 1,673,345 members that the entity has, of which 92% belong to the subsidized regime.
Meanwhile, it will be at the end of January when the National Health Superintendency will decide whether the mixed EPS, which has a presence in the 23 municipalities of Oriente Antioqueñoit will stop working.
