"EPS that fail to comply with users will continue to be liquidated": SuperSalud on Medimás

The Superintendent of Health, Fabio Aristizábal, He assured that on March 15 the transfer of 1.5 million Medimás users to other EPSs will begin, after the liquidation order of that entity.

In dialogue with RCN WorldAristizábal explained that users will be referred to other EPS temporarily and that in three months they will be able to choose the entity they prefer.

“Medimás has the obligation to attend until March 15. After that time, the Ministry of Health will temporarily assign the EPS to users,” he said.

In this sense, Aristizábal explained that the citizens of Medimás will be moved in a balanced and random way. “We will pay special attention to patients with serious illnesses,” he assured.

He asserted that “as long as these entities do not comply, they will continue to be liquidated E. We must guarantee timely attention to citizens and if they do not comply, we liquidate them.”

The Superintendent of Health assured that So far, 13 EPS have been liquidated in the country due to deficiencies in their finances and the provision of their services, moving and relocating more than nine million users in various regions of the country.

The official also warned that the debts of the liquidated EPS Medimás are four times more than in 2017 when it started its operation, “which is why it does not have the capacity to provide proper care to patients.”
