The Minister of Health Luis Francisco Sucre met this Friday with the highest authorities of the Episcopal Conference of Panama, to whom he informed them about the development and evolution of the management of the pandemic and the impact of the Delta and Ómicron variants in the country.
Sucre explained the current epidemiological situation facing the country and the management and interventions that the National Government is executing for the management, control and mitigation of the pandemic at the national level and stressed that a balance is always sought between health, social and economic.
He also asked them to maintain the capacity in the churches, reinforce the biosecurity measures in the temples and asked for the reduction or non-carrying out of massive activities in order to avoid contagion and prevent the collapse of the health system.
Traceability is 75% effective, the National Government remains committed to maintaining and seeking to have an optimal health system, so we are buying more tests to meet the population’s demand for swabs and we will also continue to purchase vaccines, including pediatric ones. Sucre pointed out.
For their part, the leaders of the Catholic Church in Panama affirmed that the sanitary measures will remain in force in all the temples and added that they will remain committed to helping the authorities to achieve control of the pandemic.
