The students carried out research work, in which they determined the seriousness of the accumulation of garbage in the streets of the sector, as well as the waste, both solid and liquid, that vehicle workshops throw onto the roads.

«The consequences can be serious, if measures are not taken to avoid this situation. For this reason, in our projects we have made recommendations to both the Mayor’s Office of the National District and the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources, to stop this practice,” said student Ana Lucía Disla Sandoval.

According to the investigation, released this Wednesday at the educational center, the National District produces 11,400 tons of garbage daily, of which 4,200 is deposited in the streets.

The students also presented a four-minute video about cartoons, in which they urge the population not to throw rubbish on the streets.

The video was produced by one of the groups participating in the development of projects on noise pollution and environmental problems.
