In the same sector, nine years ago and in less than 48 hours there were two similar emergencies in factories of the same type; “Apparently, it would be the same company, which has several offices in Envigado,” local media reported.

In the morning hours of this Tuesday, September 20, a raging fire was recorded in the Chinguí sector in Envigado, it is a Styrofoam factory, which has its headquarters in this area.
They reported that several homes in the sector were evacuated, including an educational institution located nearby.
Likewise, they reported that the situation was attended by the Medellin fire department, who managed to control the conflagration.
They needed thirteen firefighter units, a tank car and a machine that traveled to attend to this strong emergency.

The mayor of the Municipality of Envigado, Braulio Espinosa, arrived at the scene of the events, stating that it was “a Styrofoam factory located in the Chinguí 1 sector; but 100% of the factory staff has already been evacuated, six homes have been evacuated, and an educational institution has been evacuated.”
Additionally, he stated that the arrival of EPM with tank trucks was expected, because they need higher pressure and water pumping.
So far, the authorities have not submitted reports of injuries or injuries as a result of the emergency.
Apparently, this same company in 2013, went through another emergency of this type.
