“One of the partners who resides in the US presented us with the idea. We adapted it and made some changes to it to suit the Bolivian public. We know that the gamer community is getting bigger and bigger in the world and has no age limits”. This is how Álex Velarde (one of the business owners) explained how La Chata-Game Truck was born.

It is a kind of mobile container, with a dimension of eight meters long by two meters wide, which inside has four state-of-the-art televisions to be able to get the most out of the PS5 video game consoles connected to each one. of them. In the space, which also has an air conditioner, a six-meter sofa was installed so that gamers can enjoy their video games as comfortably as possible, with an atmosphere of lights and sound.

Meanwhile, outside it has two 55-inch televisions on which you can play other types of more dynamic virtual reality games, racing simulators or Nintendo Switch. In case the place where they require their services does not have the conditions, it can work with its own electricity generator, which is part of the equipment.

Between the manufacture of the container and its equipment, approximately US$30,000 was invested. The price of the service is Bs 1,400 for two hours, Bs 2,000 for three hours and Bs 500 for an extra hour.

The proposal, according to Velarde, has had an excellent acceptance. “There are many people who do not believe that this megacar is in Santa Cruz, and thank God we have a full agenda for events and birthdays,” he said.

Despite the conditions of the pandemic, the partners of La Chata-Game Truck have already started manufacturing a second flat, with the intention of providing a better service. The video game sector is one of the fastest growing in recent years. In 2020, they recorded revenue valued at $179.7 billion worldwide. That same year, many people who stayed at home turned to video game entertainment to get away from the stress of the epidemic and have a little fun. Between March 16 and 22, a total of 1.58 million physical games were sold worldwide, according to data from specialized websites.
