The Law that establishes December 20 as a National Day of Mourning and mandatory rest, was sanctioned this morning by the President of the Republic, Laurentino Cortizo.
Icaza stressed that this mandatory rest day, established in Law 157, “which adopts national awareness measures on December 20, 1989”, “is going to have an affectation in terms of cost and especially in a complicated situation. where more and more the world and the private sector need to increase their efficiency and competitiveness in order to compete in the world of tomorrow”.
“It is not something that really helps the productive sector in being able to maintain productive and labor continuity on days when there are already enough days off,” he said.
