Officials from four agencies of the Dominican Navy and inspectors from the Dominican Port Authority (APORDOM)are in charge of investigating the causes that caused the fire of a Panamanian-registered summer yacht, whose 12 occupants were saved.
The case occurred on Friday afternoon when the boat named Open Bar 2 was sailing on the coast between Boca de Chavón and Bayahibe, The Romanwith two crew members, the captain, his assistant and ten people as passengers.
The rescue alive of the twelve people, was produced jointly by a sailboat and a group of young people belonging to the Dominican Foundation for Maritime Studieswho were in the area at that time doing practical work.
Minutes later, a coast guard from the Dominican Navy arrived at the scene, who joined the rescue efforts and helped the young people of said Foundation and the sailboat, to transfer the occupants of the Panamanian-registered pleasure yacht to a safe place. Open Bar 2.

Reports obtained by journalists from this media show that on instructions from the Commander General of the Navy, Vice Admiral Ramon Gustavo Betances Hernandeza commission of experienced officers from the institution was formed to investigate the case.
The commission is made up of ship captains of the Naval Command of the Captaincy of Portsthe East Command with seat in The Romanof the Operations Division and the Directorate of Naval Intelligence M-2.
They also participate in research inspectors of Dominican Port Authority.
It was said that from the early hours of this Saturday, the officers went to the place where the twelve rescued people were taken, looking with the captains of the boat for details that could put an end to the causes of the yacht fire.
The reports show that the Panamanian ship Open Bar 2 had a provisional permit to carry out the summer raid in Dominican territorial waters.
