Entities filed in the Federal Supreme Court (STF) an action to suspend the resolution of the Federal Council of Medicine (CFM) that reviews ethical and technical criteria to serve people with incongruity and/or gender dysphoria.
In the action, filed on Tuesday (22), the National Association of Transvestites and Transsexuals (Antra) and the Brazilian Institute of Transmasculinities (Ibrat) contest Resolution 2,427/2025published last week.
THE Contest Norma prohibits doctors from prescribing hormonal blockers to treat gender incongruity or gender dysphoria in children and adolescents.
The entities advocate the resumption of the original text of CFM Resolution 2,265/2019, Standard that has been revoked to ensure the free development of personality to the hormonal blockade of puberty.
“Moral values of transphobic people or common senses cannot justify contempt for psychological and social health and gender self -determination of children and adolescents who understand each other as trans,” the entities say.
The Direct Unconstitutionality Action (ADI) that deals with the issue will be reported by Minister Cristiano Zanin. There is no deadline for decision.
