Enrique Sáenz: Dante Mossi favors Ortega with funds because he is a “confessed accomplice of the dictatorship”

Nicaraguans in Costa Rica demand that CABEI "immediately suspend disbursements" to Ortega

The economist Enrique Sáenz assured that “there is nothing strange” in the non-reimbursable cooperation of half a million dollars that the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) granted to the administration of Daniel Ortega to face the damage caused by Hurricane Julia, due to because the president of the regional organization, Dante Mossi, “is a confessed accomplice” of the dictatorship and of the governments of Honduras, El Salvador and Guatemala that “have been complacent with the Ortega government for different reasons.”

In an interview for the podcast AHORA of Article 66, also a political analyst explained that “the fundamental decisions in CABEI are made by its owners, which are the member States and primarily the Central American governments; And here we already know they have not hidden their positions for different reasons in favor of Ortega, such as in the votes in the OAS and in the votes in other international bodies.

He stressed that the administrations of Honduras, El Salvador and Guatemala “have been complacent with the Ortega government for different reasons. One because they also have a dictatorial vocation, others because they are admittedly corrupt governments and consequently they do not care what is done with funds from that institution and others apparently because of ideological affinities, but in any case it is not strange »that the regional organization is supporting with funds to the Nicaraguan regime.

In addition, Enrique Sáenz reiterated that “CABEI’s behavior in relation to the Ortega government” is not surprising, because its executive president, Dante Mossi, “has publicly confessed without the slightest blush that he is an accomplice of the dictatorship.”

“A few months ago he declared publicly, in loud and clear voices, that they were looking for devious mechanisms, shady mechanisms to help Ortega evade the impact of the sanctions that the different countries have imposed and even dared to give political opinions in this regard, then the president of CABEI is a confessed accomplice of the Ortega dictatorship and consequently the actions that he carries out in favor of Ortega should not be surprising, “said the economist.

He also argued that “the fact that there is nothing strange, obviously does not mean that they are not reprehensible actions, reprehensible actions.”

On October 18, the president of CABEI announced that the regional organization benefited the Ortega Murillo dictatorship with half a million dollars to deal with the damage caused by Hurricane Julia, which according to the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit, the economic losses in the country are around $402.6 million.
