After a precautionary hearing, Daniel GJ, the English teacher accused of sexual abuse against four of his students, was sent to the Montero prisonafter the justice ordered his preventive detention for 180 days.
The prosecutor assigned to the case, Wálter Paredes, indicated that the teacher was denounced by his 11, 12 and 13 year old students. de a private educational unit in the municipality of Montero.
The victims indicated that the man made impudent touches and had been abusing them for approximately a year, but they remained silent for fear of reprisals.
However, encouraged by courage, they confessed the fact to a teacher, who informed her superiors, but it was weeks later that the case reached the authorities, so the Children’s Ombudsman and the Special Force to Fight Violence (Felcv) began the investigations and found the teacher.
On Thursday, at the conclusion of the hearing on precautionary measures, both the prosecutor and the representative of the Ombudsman for Children, Silvia Mejía, indicated that they will not be able to give more statements because the case was placed on reserve.
According to information from the Felcv, the four students had been harassed and abused in different circumstances, and on August 16 they had already betrayed their teacher, confessing what had happened to another teacher, but only on August 30 did the authorities address the case.
The Felcv investigates not only the teacher for the crime that was sent to jail, but the rest of the teaching staff.
The Public Ministry and the Police will carry out an expert report on the cell phone seized from the teacher, in order to collect evidence in the case. ANDMeanwhile, the accused will be held in preventive detention at the Montero Productive Rehabilitation Center (Cerprom).
The authorities added that the teacher had already resigned from his post a week ago, for which he ceased to be a worker at the institution before falling into the hands of the Police.
In the Cerprom prison, he will serve his preventive detention while the investigations continue.
