Peruvian graduates from careers related to the engineering branch can earn up to 5 times more if they decide to study at a foreign university, according to the latest reports developed by Ponte en Carrera (promoted by the Ministry of Labor and Employment Promotion and the Ministry of Education) and PayScale Data.
“The increase in interest in some careers related to engineering by Peruvian students was 70% compared to previous years, which suggests a promising future for graduates of these fields”, refers Michelle Juárez, manager of New Business of GSG Education.
For example, careers such as Systems Engineering, Mechanical, Biomedical or Chemical Engineering have become more appealing to young people due to the exposure they have gained from issues related to COVID-19, and have made visible the scope that professionals can have. in various fields of study.
Next, these are the best paid engineering careers in the most outstanding universities in Peru and the United States, according to studies carried out by Ponte En Carrera and PayScale Data respectively.
According to the information, even though Computer Engineering is the best paid in Peru, in the United States the salary is 4 times higher for this specialty.
“In all cases, the return on investment regarding the annual salary is more beneficial if you study at a foreign university, generating an average income 5 times higher compared to what you would earn in Peru only in the aforementioned careers” , Juarez says.
