Energy subsidies will increase in Non-Interconnected Zones

Energy subsidies will increase in Non-Interconnected Zones

Through Resolution 40239 of 2022, the Ministry of Mines and Energy made it official that the subsidies for the energy service in the Non-Interconnected Zones (ZNI) of the country will increase.

(See: Colombia, the 71st member of the International Energy Forum).

This measure will allow, among other things, the increase of hours in the places where the service is provided partially: for example, those who had the service for 4 hours will go to six; those of five hours, will have it for eight hours; and those of eight hours will become ten.

There will also be an improvement in the rate for energy use.

The number of families that will benefit is 657,000.

(See: Energy consumption in Colombia grew 3.11% in June).

With this resolution we guarantee that users receive quality electrical energy and, at the same time, that the companies providing the service have the support that allows them to maintain the systems in optimal operating conditions.”, said Miguel Lotero, deputy minister of Energy.
