The issue of electricity reform is part of the debate that will take place for the modernization of the Trade Agreement with the European Union (EU), commented the president of the International Trade Commission of the Parliament of that community of nations, Bernd Lange, during a meeting with the board of the Senate.
He noted that in the EU we have had a discussion for a long time in the sense that electricity should be more in the property of the people
. The also MEP added that in the German town where he lives, the electricity sector was common property
in 2000 and a well-established process is required to carry out a win-win domain change.
Before, the president of the Senate, Olga Sánchez Cordero, noted to the members of the EU we are responsible for the commitments established by Mexico with its partners at the international level, in line with national interests
.
He added that this is how his counterparts have expressed it, for example, the United States, a country with which dialogue is daily and with which in recent weeks we have interacted in a respectful manner and made progress on issues related to climate change and renewable energy
.
Sánchez Cordero recalled that in October last year another delegation from the European Parliament was in Mexico and the opportunity to continue the dialogue reflects the commitment of the EU and our country to consolidate the efforts for the implementation of the renewed Global Agreement.
