The Energy crisis It does not give signs in improvement in Cuba. This Saturday the maximum affectation approached its historical record and only for an hour in the morning there were no blackout deficit on the island.
For others, a fault of the Port Plant of Puerto Escondido caused interruptions to the manufactured gas service in several municipalities of Havana.
In the case of the current, the Electric Union (UNE) reported That after almost 24 hours of deficit the demand managed to cover between 4:08 and 5:08 this morning, but from that time the blackouts were restarted, so that at 7:00 am the debt ascended at 600 MW.
Yesterday, the maximum affectation was recorded at 6:40 at night and amounted to 1735 MW, a figure close to The 1779 MW last Wednesdaythe highest so far this year. In addition, the blackouts were maintained for 20 and more continuous hours throughout the island.
For this Sunday the stage will be slightly better, according to official forecasts. At noon, 900 MW of affectation and at the night peak, 1,480 MW are expected. This, if expected recovery is met and does not produce any unforeseen breakdown that aggravates the deficit.
There are currently eight thermoelectric units outside of service – four for breaks and four for maintenance – none of which will be rejoined in the day.
Similarly, there are 382 MW affected by lack of fuel, from which UNE expects to recover 50 at the maximum demand schedule.
Gas in Havana
For the night peak, the entrance of Unit 5 of Energás Jaruco is also expected, while the Puerto Escondido Energy Plant, damaged this Saturday, was in the process of “stabilization”, according to The Petroleum Cuba Union (CUPET).
The entity reported that gas production was recovering its volumes, after resolving the breakage, and that for hours at night the “restoration of all distributing networks” was expected.
Hours before, Cupet had confirmed the breakdown at the Puerto Escondido plant, which occurred at 1:00 pm yesterday. For this reason he had warned partial and total effects at manufactured gas service – the so -called “street gas” – in the Cuban capital.
In particular, the entity warned of these difficulties in the municipalities of Havana Vieja, Centro Habana, Cerro, Plaza, Playa, Ten de Octubre and Marianao.
