Santo Domingo. – The Ministry of Energy and Mines (MEM) made a donation of medical equipment to perform diagnostics and laboratory supplies Ministry of Public Health.
These are Bodystat Quadscan 4000 devices, devices that use electrical bioimpedance (BIA) technology to analyze various components of the human body that have various uses to make medical diagnoses.
The Vice Minister of Nuclear Energy, Alfonso Rodríguez, said that the acquisition of the equipment was managed by the MEM before the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and is part of a project that seeks to reduce nutritional risks in pregnant women and their impact on infants.
The donation was received by a commission from the Ministry of Public Healthheaded by the Vice Minister of Collective Health, Eladio Pérez, who thanked the delivery on behalf of the institution and said that it makes a great contribution to the work they do.
The event was held at the MEM headquarters, where the general characteristics of the equipment and the portability and precision it has in all the functions it performs were explained.
