A total of 4,811,338 candidates confirmed the registration to take the National High School Exam (Enem) this year. According to the Ministry of Education, The number represents an increase of 11.22% compared to last year and 38% compared to 2022. 
Of the total subscribers, 3,049,710 are exempt and 1,761,628, paying. Among the confirmed candidates, 1,390,815 had the registration pre-named by the National Institute for Educational Studies and Research Anísio Teixeira (Inep), a novelty in this year’s edition.
The State of São Paulo was the one that recorded the largest number of subscribers in Enem 2025 (751,648). Then are Minas Gerais (464,994) and Bahia (428,019).
The Enem will be applied on November 9th and 16th in the 27 Federation Units. In the cities of Belém, Ananindeua and Marituba (PA), the tests will be on November 30 and December 7because of the 30th United Nations Conference on Climate Change (COP30) in Belém.

Enem is the main gateway to higher education in Brazil, Through the Unified Selection System (Sisu), the University for All Program (ProUni) and the Student Financing Fund (FIES).
Public and private institutions also use Enem to select students as a unique or complementary criterion for selection processes. Enem’s individual results can also be used in the selection processes of Portuguese institutions that have an agreement with Inep to accept the exam notes.
