The 2024 edition of the National High School Exam (Enem) registered 12 participants who obtained a perfect score or a thousand in the essay, with only one coming from a public school in Minas Gerais. The other states with the highest score were Alagoas, Ceará, Goiás, Maranhã, Pernambuco, Rio de Janeiro, Rio Grande do Norte, São Paulo and the Federal District.
“Remembering that, this year, the president will launch an award to recognize the results of basic education in Brazil – including the Enem results”, said the Minister of Education, Camilo Santana, during a press conference this Monday (13) , the date on which the test results were announced.
“Soon, we will announce to the press and the Brazilian population the categories for recognizing efforts to improve the quality of basic education in our country by municipality, by state, by network, by school. It is a way of recognizing, of making the results even more transparent and of recognizing the efforts of education networks throughout Brazil”, he added.
According to Camilo, the average essay grade in Enem 2024 was 660 points – 15 points more than the average essay grade recorded in the previous edition of the exam, of 645 points. “A significant increase, of 15 points, in average proficiency, when compared to 2023”, assessed the minister.
