In the last eight years, the National Electricity Company (ENDE) quintupled the wind power it injects into the National Interconnected System (SIN), which represents a contribution to the change in the energy matrix.
To the first wind farm that was inaugurated in 2014, in Cochabamba (in Qollpana), with 10 wind turbines and an installed capacity of 27 MWfollowed by three others that began operations in 2021 in Santa Cruz (Warnes, San Julián and El Dorado).
“Increasing the injection of wind energy to the SIN by 500% in just five years is an encouraging figure, since It shows us that in Bolivia we have the qualified and necessary human resources to face projects of this magnitude.that we can generate development and jobs with them and continue contributing to the change in the energy matrix”, highlighted Álvaro Herbas, general manager of ENDE Corani, a company that participated in the construction and assembly process of these plants.
the subsidiary It is also in charge of the operation and maintenance of all the wind farms in the country.: Qollpana (27 MW), Warnes I (14 MW), San Julián (39.6 MW) and El Dorado (54 MW), and plans to develop several wind measurement studies in the country.
For its part, ENDE Corporación has reactivated the Warnes II wind projects in Santa Cruz and La Ventolera in Tarija.
“Currently, 40 wind turbines are installed distributed in four wind farms in Cochabamba and Santa Cruz, which together inject 135 MW of wind energy to the SIN; an important achievement, taking into account that in Bolivia; for example, the entire department of Oruro has an approximate demand of 100 MWHerbas said.
