Party at CECAP, activity open to the public
Next Tuesday, December 9, the end-of-course party will be held at the CECAP in Melo with a varied and attractive proposal that both the Educators and the young people themselves are preparing.
Starting at 10:30 there will be a sample of the work done by the students, tastings of typical foods from Cerro Largo and shows by live artists.
“We have a year full of learning and many achievements, so we are very happy, a really great year.” summarized Cecilia Pintos.
“We invite the entire community of Melo to join us at our closing party which will be next Tuesday at 10:30 here at CECAP. This year we are going with a proposal for a Gastronomic and Artistic Fair that is very nice to which the gurises are putting a lot of rehearsal, a lot of will and a lot of desire” remarked the CECAP Coordinator of Melo.
“It is a party for the community, for young people and for families so everyone is invited. We are going to have a gastronomic fair. This year they worked with the four elements of nature” he remembered. “Water, fire, earth and air led the gurises to investigate and take a historical tour of all the culture that exists in this beautiful Cerro Largo. There will be many nice surprises on Tuesday to share with everyone” he assured.
CECAP’S FOOTPRINT
This non-formal education proposal goes far beyond learning through different workshops, it aims at the comprehensive education of young people who for different reasons have disengaged from the formal educational system.
“The gurises have a very nice process here, accompaniment from the Team of Educators and Teachers who every day put a lot of effort and will into this and that has its beautiful results” Cecilia Pintos stressed.
EDUCATIONAL REINSERTION
The Center Coordinator revealed to EL PROFESIONAL Diario that 17 young people completed Basic Cycle studies at UTU through the Rediscover Program. “We have another 20 who are going from here to UTU next year to finish the Basic Cycle” said.
“We have more than 50 young people who finished their process at CECAP and who return next year. It is a nice process with small actions that one does every day” he pointed out.
“The objective of the gurises and ours is that they have their educational continuity, that they can circulate through other institutions in order to choose their life project according to what they like most and what they want most” Pintos expressed.
CONTACT WITH MINISTER MAHIA
In a meeting with the remaining 21 CECAP in the country, the boys had the opportunity to be in direct contact with the Minister of Education and Culture.
“On that trip to Montevideo they participated in a press conference with the same Minister. That was an important achievement of all the CECAP. Throughout the year we had regional meetings with the delegates of the other CECAP and we finished the cycle there in the country’s capital at the Ministry of Education and Culture where the young people were the protagonists and had a very enriching round trip with Professor José Carlos Mahía. They came away with a lot of learning and achievements” projection.
REGISTRATIONS FOR 2026
The Team will continue working until the last day of December, even though the formal closure of activities is next Tuesday the 9th. “Registration is open for next year,” he reported.
“All the gurises who have not finished the Basic Cycle, who are not working, who are between 14 and 20 years old and are eager to learn by experimenting can sign up” he stated.
“We are going to be here from Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. You can come, we are going to tell you about our proposal and I hope that next year we will have many more students” Cecilia Pintos, CECAP Coordinator of Melo, concluded.
