The day before, Premier Gustavo Adrianzén reported that the bill that criminalizes said crime had been sent to Congress.
“The bill will be sent to the Congress of the Republic, through which we modify the Penal Code regarding the crimes of contract killing and extortion, and incorporate the crime of urban terrorism,” Adrianzén said at a press conference. .
“This was a commitment from the government,” said Adrianzén, and specified that it has an exceptional measure to be applied in states of emergency.
The president of the republic, Dina Ercilia Boluarte Zegarra, as recalled, called on Parliament last Sunday to approve the bill that criminalizes the crime of urban terrorism.
This, in order to toughen penalties against hitmen, kidnapping, extortion and possession of firearms of illegal origin.
“It is time to toughen penalties; It is time to show crime that they are not going to be able to defeat us. Our brothers transporters, our brothers winemakers and the Peruvian men and women who go to study or work deserve to do so in an environment of peace and tranquility,” he said.
The president made this invocation when leading the delivery of 120 vans to the police stations of the First Piura Police Macroregion.
On the other hand, Congress will debate today the opinion of the bills that incorporate the crime of urban terrorism.
