Vicente Romero arrives at Congress to answer for interpellation
The Minister of the Interior Vicente Romero arrived at the headquarters of the Congress, in order to answer the list of questions raised by Parliament in the interpellation process approved against him.

The Board of Spokespersons of the Congress of the Republic unanimously agreed that the debate of the three interpellation motions against Vicente Romero will last two and a half hours. In addition, it was established that each spokesperson will have five minutes to establish a position on the issue, without interruptions or additional time.
Romero is investigated by the alleged crime of omission of functional acts for the police intervention carried out last January 21 in the UNMSMwhere almost 200 people were arrested, including students and protesters from the south of the country.
Recently, the minister of state informed that he will go to the facilities of the legislative Palace to answer the questions posed by the different benches regarding the work of their portfolio.
“We will answer all the questions that have been raised, especially what is the subject of the UNMSM, but what he does want to emphasize is that the intervention was within respect for human rights and, of course, that there was not a single injury. I will give the details to Congress,” he told the press.
At another time, he pointed out that, if the Plenary decides to censor it, “it is their issue”, since “any political authority is exposed to it”.
“If they have to censor me, well, I have done it with the best desire to serve my country. For this reason, I accepted this portfolio at such a difficult time that the country was experiencing,” the official said.
