Empresa Mi Bus plans to renew the bus fleet, after 12 years of operation

The general manager of the Mi Bus company, Luis Campana, revealed that the bus fleets have been in operation for 12 years and have an average of 650,000 kilometers traveled, so the process to tender the purchase of new buses is being planned. Currently the company has 1,436 units.

Campana specified that, in addition to the traditional 12-meter buses, they also plan to buy 9-meter units so that they can enter narrow streets where the others do not fit. The plans also include the acquisition of 400 electric buses.

The replacement of the fleet could help reduce the problems faced by the company due to the paralysis of about half of the units due to damage or lack of maintenance.

The last time the Mi Bus company bought metrobuses was in 2017, when it acquired 203 Torino model vehicles.

The metrobus system began operations on December 28, 2010, replacing the “red devil” buses.
