A factory for the production of frozen food at popular prices called Unity, Solidarity and Organization (USO) will be inaugurated in the coming days in the town of Laferrereof the Buenos Aires party of La Matanza, and will initially have 80 workers, with the possibility of expanding to 180all beneficiaries of the Empower Work program.
The USO food company -which will start operations on August 22nd- is managed by Fabio Crucianelli, a merchant and entrepreneur from Matanzas, and has the support of the social leader and president of the Federation of Land and Housing (FTV), Luis D´ Elijah.
In dialogue with Télam, Crucianelli highlighted the support of the national government, state agencies and the Municipality of La Matanza to advance with the implementation of the food plant and maintained that ventures “cooperatives like these are a great tool to fight the lack of employment”.
“Frozen foods have an expiration date of 180 days, others 360 days, and are intended for sectors of society that do not have access to all the food products on supermarket shelves, where food is very expensive. We want generate work, produce quality products and at affordable prices,” explained the merchant
The factory will operate at the cooperative’s headquarters located at 4,161 Tres Cruces Street, in Laferrere, La Matanza district, in the province of Buenos Aires.
To do this, set up a new building, with all the necessary equipment for the preparation of frozen products, like a machine that makes 1,800 units of chicken medallions per hour, another that produces meat, vegan and vegetarian burgers. They will also produce pizzas, cannelloni, fish fillets, and four kinds of frozen empanadas with the “corresponding safety standards,” they explain.
Initially, 80 people will work in the factory, which may reach 180, when two shifts of food production are implemented.
“The place is prepared for 24 hours of movement, with all the necessary machines and tools: power generator, cooling tower, conveyor belts, water tanks, everything for large-scale production,” explains Crucianelli.
The employees of the factory are beneficiaries of the Empower Work, the national program for socio-productive inclusion and local development, which seeks to improve employment and generate new productive proposals through the development of socio-productive, socio-community, socio-labour projects and the educational completion, in order to promote full social inclusion for people who are in a situation of social and economic vulnerability.
“Employees will continue in the Work Potential plan and an agreement salary from the corresponding union will be completed, with what is produced by the cooperative. The Signing of an agreement with the Chamber of Industry of La Matanza and the Ministry of Social DevelopmentCrucianelli said.
For his part, D’Elía stressed that it is a “very important initiative on the way to transforming the Work Promotion plans into industrial and white work.”
“Governing is creating work, said General Perón, and the President is on that path. Just as Perón and the unions were the axis of the post-war industrial economy, Alberto Fernández is on his way to being the president of the popular economy of the Argentina,” said the leader.
And he added: “We always defended work as a social order and with the deepening of the policies of the President and his ministers we are going to turn the tables on the harsh social reality that the head of the family without work means.”
