THE TV Brasilbroadcaster of Brazilian Communications Company (EBC)airs this Saturday (28), at 1 pm, another unprecedented edition of the program Xodó de Cozinha, which welcomes the cook and businesswoman Chiquita. In the episode, the presenter celebrates corn, a food present in the Northeast, her home region. Regina and Chiquita cook angu with banana hearts and couscous farofa with broccoli

In addition to preparing the recipes, Regina talks about her origins, how her roots in Paraíba are present in her life and how she transmits the culture and cuisine there to her daughters. Affective northeastern cuisine is based on regional memories and traditions, often passed down from generation to generation.

Kitchen Xodó

Presented by chef Regina Tchelly, the Xodó de Cozinha program, from TV Brasilseeks to encourage healthy and low-cost eating. The debut season has 26 episodes. Each edition features a special guest to prepare recipes with a specific food and talk about a topic. The production welcomes personalities such as Bela Gil, André Trigueiro and Sidarta Ribeiro, among others.

Topics revolve around issues such as sustainability, combating hunger, food seasonality, income generation, entrepreneurship and financial education. The program also values ​​traditional and emotional culture, in addition to covering dishes that evoke memories and culinary heritage.

The attraction is recorded in the kitchen of the Favela Orgânica project, an initiative created by Regina Tchelly who has been promoting healthy cuisine in the communities of Babilônia and Chapéu Mangueira, in the South Zone of Rio de Janeiro, for 13 years. Co-production carried out by TV Brasil with Kromaki, Xodó de Cozinha is directed by Pedro Asbeg.

Organic Favela

Favela Orgânica has already received several national and international awards for its actions that aim to promote food security, professional training and a change in the culture of consumption and food waste.

Chef, social entrepreneur and founder of the project, Regina Tchelly is from Paraíba and has lived in Rio de Janeiro for 20 years.
