Emilio Estefan, Bezoz: The Beginning, Amazon

MADRID, Spain.- Cuban-American music producer Emilio Estefan is working on the Vision Films biopic, Bezos: The Beginning. In the feature film, which premiered this week at the University of Miami’s Cosford Cinema, Estefan stars as Mike Bezos, the father of Jeff Bezos (Armando Gutierrez), founder of Amazon, the world’s largest e-commerce company.

“My people, are you ready to see me act like Mike Bezos, the father of #JeffBezos?, wrote Emilio Estefan in a publication of instagramwhere he also gave some details of the tape.

As he explained, his character represents “the unconditional love that a father has for his son and his family, the unique love that parents feel for their children.” While “Jeff Bezos represents the new generation of inspiring entrepreneurs who are also doing an incredible job creating jobs and helping different institutions with their donations.”

In addition, he recounted that he “loved” the project from the beginning and felt identified with Mike and the history of this multi-ethnic family.

Bezos tells the real-life story of Jeff Bezos, a humble entrepreneur who, when he was just a regular Wall Street executive, decides to create Amazon.

The film, directed by Khoa Le, is based on the book Zero to Hero by Tashena Ebanks, and is now available on iTunes, Google Play and Amazon Video.

Although Emilio Estefan’s career has been closely related to the world of cinema, it is the first time he has intervened as an actor.

At the end of last year he and his wife, the Cuban singer Gloria Estefan received the James Smithson Bicentennial Medal, presented by the National Museum of American History, for their contributions to the American experience through music, and the cultural impact they have had on the American sound.
