Participating in the plenary session of deputies and senators of the Movimiento Ciudadano party at the Hacienda de Los Morales in Mexico City, prior to the start of legislative work starting this September 1, the presidential candidate said that the actions of the members of the “orange party” will be crucial to generate a democratic balance in one of the powers of the union.
He stressed that the Citizen Movement’s agenda is focused on Human Rights, climate justice, causes, intergenerational justice, and the defense of children, which is why he called on legislators not to stray from the path and commitments made by this party in the last elections.
“You as a whole will represent 6.5 million Mexicans in these spaces and you will not be alone. You will never be alone in the forum, in a committee discussion, first because there is a social force that supports you of 6 million Mexicans, and a conscious expression and legislators who work in unity and defend the noblest causes relevant to our time,” he said.
For his part, Dante Delgado, president of the Citizen Movement at the national level, described the distribution of federal deputies by Morena as a deviation from the law, with the aim of achieving overrepresentation, supported by officials from the National Electoral Institute and the Electoral Tribunal.
The Veracruz politician considered that through coalition agreements, Morena gave away seats in the federal Congress to the Green Party and the Labor Party without any merit and endorsed by the electoral authorities.
In @MovCiudadanoMX We have always been clear about this; we are and will be the real option in this country. “Every time you stand in the Senate of the Republic, tell all those who got there without knowing why, that they are worth 3.25 more than them. Tell them. I denounce the INE and for that reason I denounce the TRIFE and let you know that they are servile bureaucrats and unworthy of the country,” he said.
Dante Delgado considered that given the drop in voting and rejection of the PAN and the PRI, which formed the “Va por México” coalition together with the PRD, Movimiento Ciudadano is obliged to be what he called “the true opposition” in the country.
“We will have the obligation to be the predominant electoral force in 2027 and for that we have to do a great job of information, among which is what I am telling you. Poor those political actors who are thinking only about their position and not about building a project for the greatness of Mexico,” he said.
At the plenary session, the members of the MC declared their support for Pablo Lémus and Verónica Delgadillo, governor of Jalisco and mayor of Guadalajara, respectively, who will be in charge of maintaining the main bastion of this party in the country.
