Joel Embiid will miss at least the next two games, including last night’s game against the Brooklyn Nets, because of a sprained left midfoot suffered in Saturday’s loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves.
“How do I make it up to Joel? We have to play,” Philadelphia Sixers coach Doc Rivers said after practice Monday. “We worked on a lot of offensive moves today. We are not going to be a great team. With PJ Tucker, Montrezl Harrell and Paul Reed, we’ll figure it out and move on.”
The team said Embiid’s status, beyond missing last night’s home game against Brooklyn and today’s game in Charlotte, will be “re-evaluated in the coming days.” Embiid suffered the injury when his teammate Georges Niang accidentally fell on him on a fast break during the fourth quarter of Saturday’s loss to Minnesota.
