The national director of Pharmacy and Drugs of the Ministry of Health of Panama (Minsa), Elvia Lau reported this Friday on some of the progress that has been made in the technical table of medicines where different measures are evaluated to make them accessible and available to Panamanians. .

He stated that this table has been defining the last points to solve the problem of drug prices.

“At the table we have defined five very important pillars: streamlining of regulatory processes, comprehensive contracting procedure, unified purchasing mechanism, solidarity pharmacies and the National Medicines Observatory of Panama,” he explained.

He added that they wanted to name one of these pillars “Citizen Observatory”, because every citizen from his cell phone will be able to access an application and see where the medicines are, and where the most accessible prices are.
