The deputy of Dominican Liberation Party (PLD) in the National District, Elpidio Báez, described as “excessive optimism” the Government’s assertions that the criminality in the country decreased by 25% in the first week of the implementation of the mixed patrol.
“The Government with these declarations incurs an excess of optimism, because when measures of this type are implemented to reduce crime levels it is very difficult to quantify it in a week”said.
He emphasized that a week after the mixed patrol between the police and the military has been implemented, there has been no change in the high levels of crime that affect the country.
“It is that the Government is not attacking crime at its roots, what it is doing is making propaganda” said .
