Elio Rieratelevision host’s lawyer Andrés Hurtado, known as ‘Chibolín‘, reiterated in an interview for RPP that his client is not an effective collaborator of the Prosecutor’s Office. However, it stated that it has provided relevant information that it has at its disposal regarding Elizabeth Peralta and Maria Vidalboth suspended from their positions due to their alleged links with Hurtado, as well as the former national superintendent of Immigration, Roxana del Águila.

“In general terms, what I can say is that Mr.Andrés Hurtadohas provided the relevant information that it has at its disposal regarding Dr. Peralta, Dr. Vidal and the links that they tried to attribute to her,” said the lawyer. Elio Riera in the RPP program It’s Never Too Late.

“What he has done is collaborate with justice in the sense of clarifying the facts for which he is charged in a criminal case,†he added.

In that context, Riera explained the reasons why Andrés Hurtado has not become effective collaborator. He indicated that, to do so, he would have to take advantage of an incident, provide corroborated information, go through a legality check and, finally, when a judge concluded said incident and handed down a sentence, he would be assigned the status of effective collaborator with revealed identity. Riera emphasized that, to date, this has not happened.

On the other hand, in another part of the interview, the lawyer pointed out that his main objective at this moment is not to prove the innocence of Andrés Hurtado, but to achieve his release after the order of the Judiciary which imposed 18 months of preventive detention.

On October 28, Andrés Avelino Hurtado Gradosparticipated in the appeal hearing against the preventive detention that was imposed on him. The session was chaired by Judge César San Martín and took place with the presence of the former presenter from the Lurigancho prison. During his speech, Hurtado requested a few minutes to explain his work ties, with the purpose of demonstrating his roots and strengthening his defense.

“I have to say thatI have always been collaborating with the Prosecutor’s Office… I can face my trial with total transparency,” were his words before the representatives of the Judiciary and the Public Ministry at that hearing. According to H13, Hurtado He would have expressed his interest in being an effective collaborator and would have testified twice before prosecutor Alejandra María Cárdenas Ávila, of the Second Transitory Supreme Prosecutor’s Office specialized in crimes committed by public officials.

On October 23, in the Lurigancho penitentiary establishment, Chibolín testified on three topics: the Court of Lima, magistrate María Delfina Vidal La Rosa-Sánchez, a businessman linked to Fuerza Popular and the suspended prosecutor Elizabeth Peralta.

Hurtado confessed that the election of Maria Vidal as president of the Superior Court of Lima was manipulated and that, at the end of 2022, he intervened through “handouts” to ensure his election. He explained that he covered lunch and accommodation expenses for judges who voted in favor of Vidal, financed through his company. AH Entertainment Company SAC.
