The interim Ombudsman, Eliana Revollar, spoke about the announcement made by the President of the Council of Ministers, Aníbal Torres, about the presentation of a matter of confidence before Congress.
Revollar considered that the use of this resource by the government is inappropriate, especially since the President of the Republic, peter castlehas asked the Organization of American States (OAS) to activate the Democratic Charter.
“We sincerely believe that what the premier has presented today would be inappropriate for the Executive itself, knowing that it was the President of the Republic himself who has addressed the OAS asking for the activation of the Democratic Charter. and arguing that there would be a coup against him”, he declared in dialogue with Canal N.
In this sense, the owner of the Ombudsman He believed that the issue of trust only feeds “with more fuel” to the polarization that exists between the Executive and the Legislative.
“Law 31355 clearly establishes that you can request the trust for matters of your government competencebut not invade the powers of the Legislative Power”, he added Eliana Revollar.
Question of confidence
This Tuesday, the prime minister announced that he will present to Congress a matter of confidence for the bill of the Executive Branch that proposes to repeal Law No. 31355, which regulates said figure in the last paragraph of article 132 and article 133 of the Constitution.
Through an official letter sent to the holder of that State power, Joseph Williams (Avanza País), Torres Vásquez indicated that seven months have elapsed since its presentation before Parliament and to date it does not have the opinion of the competent commission.
