Eleven accused of attacking GNB post will be charged with terrorism

Eleven members of the criminal organization El Oso were arrested in the Jagüey de Piedra and Las Delicias sectors, Ana María Campos parish, Miranda municipality (Los Puertos de Altagracia), Zulia state, according to military sources. War weapons and military garments were seized from the group of subjects.

The arrest of the eleven occurred through the Catatumbo Lightning operation with the participation of agents from the Cicpc and the National Anti-extortion and Kidnapping Command (Conas) of the Bolivarian National Guard (GNB).

In the middle of the procedure, officials seized 64 cartridges, including 52 destined for rifles and 12 caliber 16 mm. They also seized three shotguns, a gas grenade, a 9mm pistol charger, five portable radios, six telephone sets and four SIM cards from the Colombian telephone company Claro.

But, in addition, the subjects had abundant military clothing (bulletproof vest lining, tactical vests, jungle hats), a Daewo Cielo vehicle and three motorcycles.

This is the identity of the detainees: Luis Guillermo Hernández Ferrer (El Varon del Diablo), Nerio José Quintero Ávila (El Piloto), José Rafael Ferrer Bueno (El Cascorro), Rafael Antonio Paz (El Pepey), Jhony Valerio Díaz Franco ( The Barber), Waldo Enrique Fernández Fernández (El Aguilita), Isamar Carolina Nava Pernalete (La Isa), Evelyn del Carmen Vilchez Amesty (La Yegua), Genesis Carolina Quintero Ávila (La Gori), Malitzabeth Beatriz Chacín Primera and Neiver Chiquinquirá Torres Zambrano (The Garitara).

These subjects presumably participated in the attack on the GNB post located on the Bridge over Lake Maracaibo on January 1, where Captain Ebert Alexander González Morles was assassinated. They will be charged with extortion, kidnapping and terrorism, revealed a judicial source.

Another action against criminal groups was carried out in the Aceital del Yabo sector, Maturín municipality, Monagas. In that place there was a confrontation between members of the GNB and armed individuals, resulting in the death of two criminals yet to be identified.

During the scuffle they arrested Douglas José Jiménez Mendoza and Carlos Dioner Bise Calderón, members of the Los Mineros criminal group. A Glock pistol, serial FYN-905, caliber 9mm, two grenades and two motorcycles without license plates were seized at the scene.
